I have a few ideas for the name of my blog. I've been doing some thinking and a bit of research. Here are a few of the ideas I've come up with:
- Turning the Pages
- Weaving a Tale
- Under the Willow
- Reflections in the Campfire
- Wolf Shadows
- My Iron Rose
- Night at the Moon River
- Talking to Myself
- Follow the Windsong
- The Sapphire Key
- Shadow of the Fern
- Silver Sparrow
- Tangle of Ivy
- The Writer Holds the Sword
- Food for Thought
- The Scent of Jasmine
- Viola Strings
- Wandering Woods
I know, some of these seem really random. But I kind of like it that way because a lot of my posts will seem rather random. Like I said before, I want my title to be poetic, and I'd like to try (TRY being the key word) to include something to do with words, books, ideas, writing, or imagination. Although something soft and poetic might clash a bit with my strong ideas/opinions in my posts.
When I'm writing a poem/short story/book it's very easy and fun for me to come up with titles. However, I don't try to name it until I have a good idea about what the story will be about. Right now I'm trying to do it the other way around and it's turning out to be trickier than I had originally thought.
So far my favorites are "My Iron Rose", "Turning the Pages", and "My Feather Pen". Any thoughts?
I want to hear the stories behind some of these! Like "My Iron Rose" -- it sounds like it has a delightfully enchanting story to go with it. I think it's my favourite of the three. From your list, I think I like...
ReplyDeleteUnder the Willow (This one is gorgeously poetic)
Wolf Shadows (delightfully mysterious)
Shadow of the Fern (reminds me of fairy stories and enchantments)
Tangle of Ivy (probably my favourite of them all...like a mess of thoughts and thorns and ideas and flowers all in one beautiful...tangle.)
I think whatever you choose is going to be awesome. =)
Wolf Shadows has to do with one of my books.
ReplyDeleteUnder the Willow is partially from the Hunger Games, partially because I've always loved that mental picture of sitting under a willow next to a gurgling stream with the wind softly blowing the leaves while I calmly thought or read a book. It's a romantic picture that I've loved thinking about.
Shadow of the Fern, well...ferns make me think of the woods, and fresh rain, and innocence. Yes, that's a bit random.
I actually like Tangle of Ivy a lot better now that you described it that way! :) I'll strongly consider that one!
My Iron Rose does make me think of the kind of imaginative fantasy novels that I love. It also has to do with the fact that my boyfriend makes things out of metal. He's given me a few metal roses that he's made. I always found it kind of sweet that the first flower I ever got from a boy was one that I could keep forever.
