I have recently been introduced to a BBC television series called "Sherlock Holmes". It's a modern day spin and it is truely amazing. The cinematography is some of the best I've ever seen. Martin Freeman plays John Watson and does it brilliantly. I think it's funny that Freeman is going to be playing Bilbo in the upcoming movie, "The Hobbit" and Benadict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock, is going to be the voice of the dragon Smaug. Sorry...small rabbit trail. Anyway, the series has some amazingly funny lines and the mysteries are facinating. One of the only bad things about the series is that each episode is around 90 minutes long. Well that is actually a good thing because it's the only way to tell the stories properly. But the drawback is that there are only three episodes per season. What's worse is that so far there are only two seasons and the next one doesn't come out until next summer.
Here is a video clip that shows a bit more about it:
I've been Pinteresting a bit too much about the series lately, so I have all sorts of neat pictures and clips. I'm just going to put a few here for the fun of it.
First meeting between Sherlock and Watson. |
I really recomend the series. Warning though: you'll be waiting just as impatiently for next summer as the rest of us once you watch them. I'll probably end up posting a bit more on this subject at later dates. Right now I'm going to go watch one of the episodes for the second time. : )
