Memory Jars

          My friends and I have been doing Memory Jars these last few months here at college.  Basically what they are is you write down random events, funny conversations, or cool quotes you come across on small slips of paper.  Over a month you collect almost a hundred of them.  At the end of the month we all sit down and take turns reading them all.  It brings back memories that make us all nod in sympathy or crack up laughing. 
          We just read all of our little slips for this month (mine was for the last two months) and I'm still red in the face from laughing!  I wanted to share a few of the best slips that were read tonight.  I'll go by person.  Renee has the least because she forgot to write them after the first week.  Karoline forgot to write hers all together.  Rachelle wrote a decent amount, and I wrote the most.  Some notes are dated and some aren't.  I didn't include some notes that were funny, but too personal.  I might include some clarification for inside jokes in blue type.  WARNING: Most of these will seem VERY random!!!!!


Renee:

• "Shaving creme and Cheetos...  Need I say more?"  (It's a long story...) 

Rachelle:

• "Renee sniffing my perfume all the time."
• "Fabreeze!!!"  (Lets just say that the boys floor above us REALLY stinks...)
• "Me screaming as I almost fell off the bed and scaring the crap out of my roommates."  (I almost had a heart attack!)
• "Computer Science teacher talking sooooooooooo slowly...  LET MY PEOPLE GO!!!"
• "Annoying labs with bad instructions.  *cough*  Computer Science.  *cough*"
• "Housing...  Enough said."
• "Trying to get Adam with whipped creme."  (Another long story...)
• "Louis and Gerald become friends!!  :)"  (Louis is the name of a bamboo plant in our room, and Gerald is Rachelle's stuffed giraffe.)
• "Rachelle:  Does something in this room smell good to you?  Renee:  I don't know...  *Insert a minute's silence...*  Renee:  ...I think it's me."
• "Crying over Nicolas Sparks books."
• "Computer Science teacher can't spell.  -.- "
• "Banana!"  (...I have no idea...)
• "Going to sleep too warm, and then waking up continuously because you're too cold."

Darlee/Me:

• "You know it's stormy when you're walking to class and the wind is blowing so sideways that it's blowing rain UP your nose.  (3-12-13)"
• "The dining hall is mocking me.  I hate it when they have good food when I'm having a bad day!  Because then I can't enjoy it!  (3-1-13)"
• "Checking your phone to see what the time is...  And then checking it five more times because you weren't paying attention."
• "Karoline threatening to freeze and/or burn her roommate's socks!  LOL!!!  (3-11-13)"  (Let's just say Karoline hates socks and her roommate leaves them lying around a lot.)
• "Rachelle accidentally yelling, "Stop you Butt!" instead of "Stop you bus!"  Lol!!"
• "*As I get up to leave*  Sonya:  Are you going to call Jeremy?  Me:  Uh...no.  I'm going to the bathroom.  Sonya:  Okay.  Just don't call him while you're in the bathroom, okay?  Cuz that's gross!  *Pause*  Me:  Sonya...you're WEIRD!!!"
• "2 naps in one day...  And it's only Monday of Dead Week...  I'm so screwed."
• "Rachelle scaring the crap out of me with her sneeze!!  (3-16-13)"
• "Karoline fighting a caffeine with caffeine by pressing her Mt. Dew to her temple when she had a caffeine headache.  :D  (3-11-13)"
• "Sonya: *Points to white board*  That's my new white board.  Karoline:  Where's your old one?  Sonya:  On my wall.  Karoline:  Where's your new one?  *Awkward silence as everyone looks incredulously at Karoline*  (4-5-13)"
• "Renee:  At first I was like, "That person REALLY has to go to the bathroom!"  And then I realized it was a shower..."
• "Torturing Rachelle with water noises when she has to go to the bathroom.  (3-17-13)"
• "Planning to blast the song "The Circle of Life" out the window at dawn!"
• "Weird is just a side affect of being AWESOME!!!"  (A random quote that really fits our group of friends!)
• "Watching people miss their mouths while eating at the dining hall makes me chuckle evilly to myself............that is until I do it!"
• "Rachelle:  The creepiest thing in a horror movie is a little girl in a dress.  (3-6-13)"
• "*Cop car comes down the street*  Rachelle and Sonya:  ACT NATURAL!  Wait...  How do we do THAT???"
• "Gently reminding Rachelle of the time over and over again in the morning as she lies in bed.  That is until 8:20 when I say in a no-longer-messing-around voice, "Rachelle...GET UP!"  And she does...groaning and whining."
• "We're all a little weird and life's a little weird.  And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we fall in mutual weirdness and call it "love".  -Dr. Seuss"  (This is one of my favorite quotes.)
• "Talking to/teasing Karoline about her many medical mishaps, and then having me walk straight into the fire extinguisher box and knocking the wind out of myself two seconds later!"
• *As Rachelle walks too fast...again...*  Me: *Grumbles under my breath...*  I should cut your legs off at the knees!  Rachelle:  *Ponders this seriously for a moment...*  Well if you did...I'd still be taller than you!  *Then she runs away like the cowardly giraffe that she is!*  ;D  (5-1-13)  (For those of you who don't know, Rachelle is six foot six.  So she probably would still be taller than me.)
• "*When my roommates give me a hug before I leave to catch the bus to class...*  Renee:  I feel like I'm a parent sending you off to boarding school.  Me:  HOGWARTS!!!  :D"
• "You can tell my dad's been there when you find an item of food (like a roll or piece of pizza) left on the counter with a single bite taken out of it and you realize it's probably been there for hours.  -.-"
• "Rachelle getting the death glare from the short Asian man at dinner!  LOL!!  (3-17-13)"  (I think Rachelle accidentally bumped his arm or something, and since she was twice as tall as him all he could do was glare.  SO funny!!!)
• "One does not simply rise and shine!  -.-"
• "Rachelle's hiccup that sounds like a baby pterodactyl!"
• "Rachelle:  All's fair in love and Slap Jack!!"  (Slap Jack is a card game that we play which involves slapping the card deck as quickly as you can, whether or not you are squishing your friend's hand in the process!)
